From the Bay, For the Bay Dine Out
October 2-9th, 2011
From the Bay, For the Bay Dine Out is a celebration of Mary-land Seafood. Participating restaurants from Philadelphia to Virginia will feature fresh locally caught Maryland Seafood for their guests. This will be an excellent way to support their local watermen, while enjoying the freshest available seafood. October is a prime time seafood month on the Chesapeake with striped bass, crabmeat, oysters, flounder, dogfish, bluefish, lobster, and scallops being in sea-son and on menus throughout the region.
Each of the participating restaurants is donating $1.00 for every Maryland seafood dinner that is sold during this week to the Oyster Recovery Partnership in Cambridge, MD (www.oysterrecovery.org), a non-profit organization that works to replenish the population of oysters in the Chesa-peake Bay. Since 2001 they have replanted over 2.5 BILLION oysters in the bay, each with the ability to filter 50 gallons of water per day!! While enjoying a great meal you will be sup-porting watermen and helping to restore the iconic Chesa-peake oyster and improve the ecosystem.
