Welcome to Local Abundance, a Program of Education
Local Abundance is a non-profit program of education designed to familiarize your staff with the fundamental principles of sustainability. With much confusion and misinformation surrounding this complex and evolving issue, our on-site training program will provide the facts needed to insure the best choices are made when purchasing products- be they seafood or agricultural. Most importantly, this program will empower you and your staff with a foundation of knowledge that can be passed on to the customer. Over 70% of seafood sales are generated through restaurant and retail outlets. At the same time, more and more customers are questioning the origin and environmental impact of their food. Local Abundance will equip you and your staff with the tools and knowledge needed to provide the answers they seek. We offer various services, including on-site training, menu analysis for both seafood and land animals, suggestions of sustainable suppliers, supply chain audits and point of purchase materials- all designed to simplify the complexities of sustainability. We hope you will join us in working toward a time when today’s harvesting and cultivation of the land and sea involve a commitment to maintaining and enhancing our precious resource base for tomorrow. Local Abundance provides sustainability workshops for restaurants and retailers. The workshops are designed to simplify the issues of sustainability and empower staff with the tools and knowledge they need to communicate those issues effectively with guests and customers alike.
